Interlude: Can’t Forget the Software

Urumm…..yeah, we don’t have “the ish the gov’t got” or anything, but I figure it’s worth mentioning.

FL Studio 7

You know what? I enjoy using FL and I think it’s an extremely complex and multi-faceted program. And by complex, I mean, I don’t know many cats that can program and use the Fruity Forumla, for example, and I don’t personally know any cats effin’ with this:

So f*ck the haters, na’meen?

Reason 3

Reason 3

I like fooling with Reason. I like rewiring the rack, I like making the effects work for me (I made a multi-compressor that I thought was pretty dope), and real talk, I think using any time of USB or MIDI imput device is more natural there than with FL.

However, I don’t necessarily buy into the thought that it’s a “better” program because of those things…or the stereo sounds. Come with your own “sound”.

Adobe Audition

Audition

I don’t even really have to say much here. It’s Cool Edit. I just wish I had the kind of sound card to really maximize my experience with this program. Unfortunately, Jermiside still uses this program, but I had to retire it and go back to the original Cool Edit [2] cause Audition was making the Toshiba break off into seizures.

These were a gift! And what a wonderful gift!

Korg Legacy Collection

Korg Legacy

Also a gift! I don’t even think the giver knows exactly how great a gift this was for me. I can’t even put into words how much of an integral part this is to the music I make.

Native Instruments FM8

FM8

I don’t fool with NI nearly like I should. But I do enjoy altering the sounds and setting them free.

“Unfortunatley, Jermiside still uses this program”
